There’s a vice presidential debate going on this evening. Okay, you knew that. If you don’t have your head in the sand, you will know it. There’s a game going around called Sarah Palin Bingo. Or just Palin Bingo. It’s to give people something to do while they watch the Veep debate.
There are words like Alaska, Tax Relief, Family, Russia, Hockey Mom, God, Country First, Job creation…When the word is mentioned, you plug it, mark it, or poke it.

But, there is something missing on the card? Some things… Green, environment, animals, wildlife, reserves, oil … Is that because we are expecting these words to never come up in her talk? Seems so.
The other day, CNN was poking fun at the McCain ticket because the two have such different views on the environment. I think that if both of them have exactly the same perspective then one of them is redundant. What’s wrong with having someone around you who thinks differently from you?

Cleanliness is next to godliness. A green world is a godly concept, too. In that regard, House Peters, Jr, Mr. Clean, did his part to make the world a better place for 92-years. He died yesterday.
At GreenPaks we want our world to not just be green, but also cleaner, healthier and a friendlier place for animals.
Peters was an actor, as well as a commercial star for Procter & Gamble. But, what he really taught us is that cleanliness is indeed a better way of life. That means ridding the world of pollution, too, no?
The largest solar-powered tea factory will be built by Traditional Medicinals at their headquarters in Sonoma County, California. The whole project was supervised by Akeena Solar and includes some 1,450 solar panels that will generate an approximately 430,000 KWh per year which is some 75% from what the factory needs while the rest will be offset using wind energy credits.

“Since founding the company in 1974, we have always been committed to sustainable business practices that benefit our customers, trade partners, employees and our community” says Drake Sadler, co-founder and Chairman of the Board.
“The healing nature of plants has captured our imagination with their beauty and efficacy. As a socially conscious green business, we have a deep respect for the earth and humanity… projects like this solar panel installation, simply reflect and deepen our resolve to service,” he added.
It doesn’t matter if you’re a fan of Lipton, Tazo Tea or Traditional Medicinals, the most important fact is that these people are becoming more eco-conscious and that’s a good thing.

Dutch company IKEA is trying to get environmentalist to shop from the, otherwise I don’t understand why someone with a hybrid vehicle gets a reserved parking space. Is it just a marketing move to get us people to write about it, or do these guys really care that a hybrid won’t pollute the air in the nearby?

Tomorrow I’ll be visiting my local IKEA shop for some bedroom and living room furniture, and will let you know if we have the signs in Romania, too, or if they’re just in the US.

So, I am hanging out in Half Moon Bay, CA, home to some serious whale watching. But, this week it is hosting the LPGA Samsung World Championships.

The question – what does the LPGA have to do with green? The answer was just outside the media tent … the porta-potties. They are solar-powered. Now, to be sure, I am not sure what all that entails, but the things flush, the water runs and they are, by far, the cleanest such facilities I have ever used.
Samsung and Half Moon Bay – working hard to put on a first-rate tourney and do minimum harm to the world we live in, starting from the pots. How cool is that? And, if you keep your eyes peeled, you might even see a whale right off the coast.
Meanwhile, I am here covering the event for Golf Tribune. Please go there to read more of my ramblings.
