Mutation/Deformity possitively ruled out ? .. and how ?

This type of IRRESPONSIBLE research analysis shows both a lack of following scientific protocol and critical thinking .. to take 1 sample and say something is true is not only unprofessional but shows a willingness to deny any other objecive possibilities ..

Deviations from the normal scute formulae of turtles are thought to result from embryonic mutations, the specific causes of which are unknown .. In one case study of the examination of the shells of 127 ornate box turtles (Terrapene ornata) 14 (11%) had scute anomalies .. The number of scute anomalies may be the result of ..
1) temperature
2) moisture stress during egg development or incubation
3) the mutagenic effects of excess salinity during those periods

Are you accrediting purpose and direction to this property, and not random chance mutations?
