Environmentally beneficial?
Probably in the long term as ordinarily temperatures are controlled in conventional rinks using vast amounts of energy similar to a large fridge, whereas this type of polymer requires little or no maintenance and fun can be enjoyed in much warmer conditions.

No details are provided as to what the polymer is made of and no price comparisons are evident but as a medium/long term investment it does sound a viable alternative. My guess would be the polymer used is the slippery man made substance that even a "gecko" cannot get a grip on.... Teflon?

Wonderful. More idiotic uses to waste petroleum. I thought we were running out of it?

why not just roller skate then? Has everyone forgotten about it? You can skate on any smooth surface cement included, and you don't slow down as much.
