@Chuck and @Mandy, I just researched this solar cooling machine and saw that it works with a geothermal system so this is exactly what you are talking about!.

Solar cooling is heading in the right direction however having a geothermal system installed would be a lot more effective. Rain or shine it produces colling and heating when you need it.

Hey everyone,

I think it is great that so many people are trying to become greener and more eco friendly. I am trying to do my bit and I recycle as much as possible - I even recycle my old mobile phone! Wrapping paper is also another item which many people just throw away which quite often can be recycled. In order to do my bit I have now decided to send eCards instead of traditional cards, no paper is being used, so this has to be good news. I have spent ages on the net trying to find a site that I liked, and then I came across a really cool eco friendly Father’s Day eCard site that I really like. I found this site so easy to use and there always seems to be a lot of choice. Dad loves computers so a Father’s Day eCard is ideal. Let me know your thoughts on this, I quite like the idea as a way to help the environment.

Solar is effective but only with a lot of sun, like Arizona or Nevada for example. A place with high heat and only moderate sun won't be as effective. A more effective solution would be geothermal or geothermal mixed with solar. There is an excellent explanation of geothermal here. http://geothermalhvac.info/residential_systems.html.
