UK to Get a Taste of High Speed Javelin Trains
The UK has unveiled its very first domestic high speed rail service, which offers to drastically cut commuting times. The train will move at a speed of 140mph, which is enough to significantly reduce times. For example, the London to Ramsgate journey that takes 81 minutes, will be completed in just half an hour on the new Javelin trains. Similarly, the London to Ashford journey will be reduced from the current time of nearly an hour to 37 minutes.
The high speed Javelin trains have been built in Japan, and there higher speeds and lower travel times of course demand a higher investment. The UK has already announced a $32 billion investment in the near future, towards expanding the country’s high speed rail network.
It is believed that the high speed rails will be able to draw commuters out of their vehicles, and into the fast moving Javelins. The high speed trains though, have higher fares than their conventional counterparts. Off-peak fares will be higher by 7.3%, while the peak fares may be even higher.

What they sell you in the UK as “New Technology” is what they threw away in Germany China and Japan 12 years ago.
