Ready for a debut at the upcoming CES is this recycled sling tote bag, that probably needs to recycle its name into something better first. This one is called 4U2ReUSE Solar Sling, and that isn’t quite a catchy name, even though the form and style of the bag are very interesting. Plastics of course, are big villians of the environment story, and this bag makes things better by being created out of recycled PET bottles.

Another thing going into the bag’s favor is that it comes with solar cells, which together with some cells and a battery would do good for handheld devices. Concord Keystone, the manufacturer of these bags says that the solar cells can produce electricity in the sun, shade and even indoor lighting. That the solar cells are well concealed is something that goes in favor of this bag; that it takes five hours of direct sunlight to fully charge the battery is somewhat of a turn off. There’s no word on pricing or availability yet, but that should be out at CES.
