Solar Carport To Generate One Million kWh Annually

The massive carport built in Bordentown, New Jersey, is all set to draw juice from the sun and supply it to the attached auction facility. This carport is probably the largest of its kind in the USA. The carport itself is spread over 13000 square meters, and it incorporates 5880 solar panels of 170W capacity.
It is expected to generate solar power at more than a million kilowatt hours of supply every year, or more specifically, 1,056,000 kWh a year. Solar panels are connected through eleven seperate inverters, so that moving one does not adversely effect power generation from the entire system, making it very robust.
Energy from the sun will account for 52 percent of the facility’s energy needs; thus reducing the carbon emissions by 862 tons annually. This would be the same as taking 158 cars off the road. Created by Alpha Energy, the system can in fact, generate enough juice to power 114 US homes.
