diy optimus prime Optimus Prime Replica Built From Junk, Still Rallies Autobots

Transformers are a surefire way to get attention, and Optimus Prime of course is quite high on the list there. The 14-foot replica of Optimus Prime you see here was built by a Taiwanese fan, and he built it all out of junk. Though very clearly, and quite obviously the replica does not match its inspiration of Optimus from Revenge of the Fallen, the DIYer gets a few brownie points for his purpose.

The man built this replica for his son, who happens to be a fan of Optimus Prime. More interesting is that he spent $1600 for getting the scrap metal to put the replica together. While the effort makes him a good father, the son could have probably been happy for a toy costing a tiny fraction of that amount, and Optimus would be happier at not being put through the humiliation. Still, kudos for the effort.
