Oppenheim Proposes Green Marina and Beach Towers for UAE
Design firm Oppenheim have proposed a new building for UAE beach. This structure would rely on renewable energy from the sun and the wind for most of its energy needs, and while generating all that green energy, the Marina and Beach Towers will also strive to cut down on its energy use. The design is unconventional, but it is supposed to “merge the sky and water to allow for a more varied living experience.” Or whatever that means.
The towers facade will respond to the sunlight, making it easier to collect solar energy. Also, a number of plants will be used to provide protection from the intense desert sun, while providing natural lighting to the building. The unique design lets plants be placed at numerous places on the building, creating small gardens all around. Going by the images/renderings we see here, there are going to be lush green surroundings.
The need for air conditioning will be reduced by using breezes to regulate temperatures, while solar and wind arrays provide energy for the structures.
