The Geneva Motor Show will see the I.DE.A institute unveil a new concept car, the Sofia. The concept has been created as a nod to classic Italian design, but with modern sensibilities. Sofia concept is a premium four door sedan with sport looks and a low emission powertrain.
The concept can seat four and its looks do indeed bring out the Italian influence on the car. Its burgundy paintjob is an attempt to simulate a glamorous red dress. Flowing contours and lines throughout the concept add to it looks and give it a somewhat dynamic form.
Powering it all is a hybrid powertrain that puts electric motors to work, along with a powerful (and polluting) V8 engine. The engine develops 400hp of power, while the motors contribute 100hp to take the net power output to 500 hp. Electric motors on the Sofia concept power the front wheels, while the V8 engine supplies power to the rear wheels.
