Mobile floating architecture has always been a viable option before us to counter space constraints due to shortfall in the availability of land. People have been using sustainable structures to live on the water in many parts of the world but they have too elementary in terms of design and construction. The Last Resort, is a solar powered concept mobile floating home by RAFAA Architecture and Designs which is all set to see the light of the day.
The floating home has three levels. The roof which also serves as an extra deck has integrated solar panels that generate electricity for the two electric engines that propel the home. Its middle level contains living space, a kitchen, a bathroom and two bedrooms while the lower level supports sleeping bunks, mechanical equipments and hatches. With funding underway it is expected that the Last Resort shall soon become a floating reality by the end of this year.
