Martha Stewart’s Whole Living magazine has beaconed New Yorkers to pluck a page out of their busy lives to refresh their mind and body with expert advice and fresh ideas about the going green, eating well, staying fit and plenty more.
To promote biking to work culture within US, with just a small fraction currently a part of it, Whole Living Magazine teamed up with Friends of the Hudson River Park and Transportation Alternatives to encourage New Yorkers to observe May 21st as National Bike to Work Day and bike to work. To highlight the advantages of swapping one’s car for an eco-friendly, healthy bike ride every now and while Whole Living would be offering free breakfast – bagels, fruit, and smoothies created by a bike-powered blender – to bikers along the bike path beside the West Side Highway at 26th Street near its offices from 5 AM to 10 AM. Other than the free breakfast-on-the-go, and a chance to win awesome prizes — including a Gazelle bike valued at $849 the bikers would also be given free commuter kits including a map of bike paths in New York City, surrounding boroughs, and a bike rules handbook.
