The new system delivers 50 kilowatts of power that can easily charge a 9-person taxi-van in just 30 minutes. Once charged the taxi-vans can drive 100km or more on a single fast recharge. The Epyon fast-charging station has several multiple advantages that address the limitations of fixed battery electric vehicles. The charging station is capable of powering multiple EV’s, since a single charging stations has several compact outlets. These intelligent charging stations remotely configured, managed and maintained, through Epyon’s Power-Routing network are supported by the international CHAdeMO-standard for quick-charging protocols. The introduction of fast chargers is a big deal for the EV community, since helps redress several limitations associated with fixed battery electric vehicles; short distance range and intermittent recharging, that have always given a setback to largescale use of EV’s in transporting people from one part of the city to another.
