Solar Panels in recreational boats manufactured and sold by Toyota will now have Kyocera’s solar modules equipping its solar power generation. The panels are also designed to be installed as an optional unit on the same type of boats of other manufacture also.
The additional advantage is that the electricity that the solar modules generate can be used for battery charging and to provide a steady, durable power source to be used to power the other electronics and appliances that are present on board the boat. This solar charging system not only reduces CO2 emissions, it also prevents battery deterioration during the extended periods of time while the boat is docked and not being used.
This new module is exhibited as part of Kyocera’s exhibits at the solar energy trade exhibition, PV Japan 2010.
