The FDA and other health officials are, however, of the opinion that the device is not really as safe as the companies claim they are. They say that the cigarettes that were officially tested do contain carcinogens. This information has been publicly questioned by e-cigarette makers, who challenged the FDA’s take on this issue by filing a lawsuit.
