NEC’s new MultiSync E231W, an LED-backlit display, comes with the promise of being ultimately environment friendly. In a bid to contribute more towards eco friendliness, the new display comes in a size of 23-inches and deploys an LED-backlit panel to increase energy savings. It has been stated that energy savings could be up to 40 percent as against the quantum of energy saved with the use of the traditional CCFL-backlit LCD screens.
The E231W comes with a Full HD (1920×1280) 16:9 widescreen LED panel; 25,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio; 4-way ergonomic stand with 110mm height adjustment, tilt, swivel, and pivot; ECO Mode and ambient light sensor; Intelligent Power Management (IPM) system and off timer; as many as five preset modes , and a multi-direction OSD NaViKey, says NEC. It will also boast of a slew of environmentally friendly badges. They include EPEAT Gold, Energy Star 5.0, and TCO 5.0 compliance. A carbon footprint meter is also thrown in.
Expected to start arriving at NEC dealerships later this month, the NEC MultiSync E231W is likely to sport a price tag that reads $300. So, all you green lovers out there, are you planning to go for this one?
