The Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta will be offering a new course on eco-friendly technology as part of it post graduate program for executives. The course will be included from the 2010-11 session say sources.
Officially titled ‘green manufacturing’, the institution says that this introduction is to meet the global thrust on eco-friendly technologies being developed. The course is offered in the Post Graduate Programme for Executives for Visionary Leadership in Manufacturing (PGPEX-VLM). This is a one-year program that is conducted jointly by IIMC-Calcutta, IIT-Kanpur and IIT-Madras, with a vision to provide skill-based training to candidates who are of the caliber of being middle level managers in the manufacturing industry.
Details given by the Institute say that the course will focus on all the aspects of green technology and manufacturing – including a green supply chain management, non conventional energy sources, green marketing, the 3Rs and the concept of energy and resource conservation. The course will have experts from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), taking sessions on green manufacturing, said sources.
