Popular watchmaker Altanus introduces Patch, their paper watch, which is the first of its kind. This biodegradable watch weighs only 11 grams that is 0.3 ounce and is ecologic with zero environmental impact. This thin structure appears just like second skin and thus naturally adapts to the wrist and is available in 10 neon colors and a litany of seasonal prints.
Above all the waterproof and shock and tear resistant technology embedded on the watch by means of an emulsion makes it much more than just a disposable fashion accessory. The watch can be otherwise called a LED ticker display made in the form of a wrist watch.
The design of the Patch was inspired by the papier-mâché floats at the annual Carnival festival in Viareggio, Tuscandy. The product is an exemplary of the paper accessories and green fashion all woven into one.
Each epidermis-hugging watch costs €24, or roughly $33.50 at current exchange rate which is considered to be more than half the price of a Swatch and much less than the usual price of Altanus’ typical luxury chronometers.
It is developed as a result of four years of research. Thus it also represents a concrete expression of Altanus’ ability and of its tireless work in the Research and Development field.
