Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport has ushered in a new “Meet and Be Green” program, in an effort to encourage guests and planners to have green choices for their meetings.
The hotel will use 100 per cent recycled materials, print materials locally by using environment-friendly service, place meeting materials on a central location instead of setting materials at every seat. The Meet and Be Green program will have an emphasis on sustainable and green practice.
Elimination of disposable water bottles and minimizing the use of other disposable products are some of the other efforts in this regard.
These apart, the hotel will maintain room temperature at an appropriate level, minimize shipping and select locally grown seasonal foods.
As part of the Meet and Be Green initiative, the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport has also brought in Seasonal Banquet Menus.
The hotel officials said, the menu selections will be updated on a regular basis. Products will be bought from local and regional farmers, fisherman and cheese makers.
Hotel authorities believe that they are being able to serve their guests in an eco-friendly manner. The Meet and Be Green program has already won the Leadership Award from the California Green Lodging Program.
The program has also successfully completed the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) Green Guidelines Challenge.
