Electric car makers Wheego are close on the heels of Volt and Leaf with their Whip Life. The EV was launched at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Recently the Life got EPA certification was given the green signal for its launch.
The company uses Chinese made body and US made components, the latest offering Whip Life is a highway capable EV.
Wheego president Jeff Boyd has promised that the Life would retail by January end itself after approval from the Department of Transportation. He also added that the number of units produced will escalate once orders start coming in.
But until now (February) not a single Life has been shipped to a customer. Reports are that the first 500 Whip Lifes are in the production line and might reach customers by March end or so.
The company affirms that 24 dealers have raised their hands to sell the Life as well as a battery-powered pickup truck and a four-door electric crossover to be launched by the year end.
