What adds beauty to this awesome elderly care center that rises from the magnificent landscape near Zamora, Spain is its pixelated green facade. The structure altogether appears to display a sloping profile. The whole complex is situated among rows of crops.
The design of the center is conceived by CSO Arquitectura. Though the center is built consuming little space, the creators have used the most of it. The buildings and grounds are covered with a grid like formation of the patios and green spaces. This is perhaps the most enchanting feature of the project.
The grid of hardscape and greenscape rolls over the center. This transits the landscape into building and vice versa. Hence the effect, though subtle, makes the center much smaller than it is. One could enjoy the rich lushness of the fertile valley, since the roof is accessible.
Above all, a patchwork of solar electric panels is erected above the grid like pattern. The panels are placed as the same angle as the sloping walls of the center. Well, that in turn makes it a project of more uniformly laid features. The panels also have another purpose as well. It provides shaded seating for the inmates of the center.
Speaking of the interiors, it is designed as centered on a vestibule. This is directly accessed by private rooms while large openings provide easy access to the exterior.
