Solar-Powered Bikini Soaks Up the Sun’s Rays to Power Your iPod
The concept of a solar bikini appears to be odd at the first instance, right? No matter, it strikes a note of green somewhere. Brooklyn-based designer Andrew Schneider is now busy taking orders for his solar-powered bikini.

The high-tech swim suit helps you to charge your cell phone or MP3 player! Composed of thin, flexible photovoltaic film strips and USB connectors woven together with conductive thread, the bikini will cost you just $200. The completely hand-stitched product requires around 80 hours in its making. The solar bikini will charge your favorite gadgets while you soak up the rays!

If you are being confused on whether it will hinder your swimming opportunities, let’s make you clear that it won’t. Al you have to do is just to unplug your devices and dry out the USB ports before you connect anything else. The bikini transmits its power directly to your electronics and no actual energy is stored.
“Five volts at under an amp is a charge you wouldn’t even be able to feel.”- says the designer. So, no need to worry on safety.
Schneider is also reportedly under work on a pair of trunks for gents that chills beer. Looking forward to that?
