Volkswagen Up! Heads for Frankfurt Show
The new compact and cute looking Volkswagen Up! is all ready for a formal Frankfurt debut next month. We are fortunate to get a good look at the tiny Up! production version that has been revealed ahead of the motor show. This small car rings a bell of the Beetle of the 60’s.

The car has started its progression from the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show at which the Volkswagen unveiled the first Up! Show car.
The car has undergone many fine-tunings and necessary tweaks with a series of follow-up concepts. Anyway, it took 4 years for us to have details about the production model from German car giants.
Up! is smaller than Polo and has three-doors. This will likely be the prime candidate for the wide line-up of small cars under the VW canopy.
The market edition is promising with a finished look inspiring realistic features from the concept vehicles lately. It features long-wheelbase, short-overhang form, measuring 2.42 meters (8 feet) from axle to axle inside a 3.54 meter (11.6 ft) shape.
It’s also almost as tall as it is wide, increasing its interior volume. It can decently accommodate four persons in the uplifted cabin that comprises a Portable Infotainment Device, through which several functions are controlled and displayed. Not to mention the Up! boxes that aim to simplify the car’s functionality with optional equipment like the kid box, city box and travel box.

The car will be availed with three trim levels in Europe by the end of this year, namely: the basic Take Up!, the mid-level Move Up! and the top-spec High Up!, apart from the Up! Black and Up! White launch models.
The powertrain is elective between two 1.0-liter versions of Volkswagen’s new three-cylinder gasoline engine family that is rated at 59 and 74 horsepower. Up! will also be available in natural gas and electric. Notably, Up! initiates new safety technology with the integrated City Emergency Braking system, halting the car if under 18 mph if it detects an imminent collision.
Wait for more information on Volkswagen Up! until it hits the Frankfurt Motor show soon.
