Who all are likely to turn green with envy when the Best Green Celebrity Award is announced? Brazilian supermodel Giselle Bundchen, Spanish actor and musician Miguel Bose and Beatle Paul McCartney have made the shortlist for the 6th International Green Awards. The three greenies overtook other impressive eco campaigners Leonardo DiCaprio, Sting and Don Cheadle among ten or so others from all over the world.
After massive voting, these three have remained in the final competition to become the international green media ambassador. The announcement of the award will be made in London on November 24, at the Natural History Museum.
Bundchen said she is blessed to have grown up in a family that embraced the importance of nature and community coexisting in harmony. “My career in the public eye has given me the opportunity to raise awareness about important socio-environmental causes in the hope of promoting a more conscious relationship with our environment.’’
In the last post on the competition, commenters seemed enthusiastic about Paul McCartney and his involvement in the Meatless Mondays campaign to win the honor. Giselle Bundchen, the ambassador for the UN Environmental Program, is not far behind.
Not getting the award, surely, is not going to erase their importance as indispensable greenies from the minds of eco campaigners.
