Amazing Sun-lit Ferrari Store in Italy

November 2, 2011 / No Comments

A Ferrari store in Italy is what we will be talking about today. A sun-lit Ferrari store to be precise! The store pays homage to Formula 1 and resembles a Formula 1 garage. The construction of the store is a topic that needs an extra focus.  The building is energy efficient and the entire gallery is lit up with natural daylight.

The front face of the store has a curved glass facade with no mounting posts or bars. There is utmost visibility to the store both inwards and outwards. Glass panels are held by an ultra-light frameless anchor system. Each glass section is made with special UV protection films. It also has a screen-printed fitting to reduce sunrays.

The store, with a unique look, offers the grand shopping of Ferrari luxury items inside in an area of 370 square meters.

Architects Losa Ghini Associati overcame the challenge of limiting too much of solar heat into the building by providing a passive cooling system that allows warm air to move up and out, letting in fresh air.

There is also a provision to activate a forced air system if the climate inside the store requires additional cooling.

So, we know you are amazed reading this story. It has been, indeed, built to make us amazed and may be seen as an ideal model for buildings to come!
