Mitsubishi Motors Corporation is all set to launch their new MINICAB-MiEV minicar-class commercial electric vehicle on December 8th. This would be their second product in its next-generation EV lineup.
This all electric car would feature 100-km (62-mile) and 150-km (93-mile) models. These models should be hitting the dealerships in Japan with a price tag ranging between ¥2,400,000 and ¥2,971,000, i.e., a $30,870 to $38,210.
Also, the company has joined hands with Suzuki to sell it through its dealerships from February.
A similar model was earlier adopted by MiMoCo during their badge-swapping deal, where they worked in partnership with Nissan. Mitsubishi believes that this arrangement would help them boost their production volumes and at the same time control costs. Suzuki would also stand to benefit from this as this would be its first all electric vehicle.
Mitsubishi has set a target of 4000 units for the first year. Let’s wait to see this hit the roads.
