The Radisson Blu Hotel in Berlin has turned an extraordinary idea to reality.  A huge Aquadom aquarium has been constructed in the heart of the hotel’s lobby atrium.

Radisson Radisson Blu Hotel Built Around 82 ft Aquadom Aquarium

This world’s largest cylindrical aquarium is 82-feet high and is managed by the Sea Life Berlin Aquarium.

The Aquadom is filled with nearly 1 million liters of seawater and contains around 1,500 tropical fish of 56 species and tiny reef-like mounds at its base. Two full-time scuba divers have been appointed for the care and feeding of the aquarium’s inhabitants.

To build such a tremendous aquarium was not an easy job; the glass for the aquarium was manufactured in four pieces and each piece was lifted into the place using a crane. These pieces were assembled on top of the 30-feet concrete foundation and the rest of the hotel was raised around the tank.

Though visitors are not allowed to dive in the aquadom, they can enjoy the view through a glass elevator built into its core which travels up and leaves them at a viewing platform just beneath the glass roof of the hotel.

The vast atrium and the aquadom have an entirely different look from that point. Guests can also watch the scuba divers often swimming around.

This huge aquarium  also acts as a dynamic light filter. Come and experience the enchanting views of the mysterious sea world and spent your time in a world of luxury.
