Audi’s introduction of the A6 L e-tron concept at the Beijing Auto Show 2012 comes across as a big step in the hybrid car scenario. The new hybrid electronic technology that was revealed at the show caught everyone’s eye for more than just the extended wheelbase version of the car maker’s A6.
The hydrid concept will sport a 2-litre four-cylinder engine that produces 211bhp that will be connected with an electric motor capable of producing an output of 95bhp. A Lithium Ion battery is smartly placed in the rear boot of the vehicle.
This sedan can cover 50 miles at a consistent speed of 37 mph on electric mode. Depending on driving pattern, drivers of the car will be able to select the best suited operating mode with the help of a hybrid control module.
Energy produced in deceleration can be either stored or used for more powerful acceleration. Although it gives a similar look and feel of the present A6L, changes can be identified in the revamped grille, headlamps, and 21 inch wheels. A small air-diffuser in the rear has also been provided.
The vehicle is equipped with a power meter that displays output from zero to 100 percent. It also comes with the luxurious interiors with more legroom for passenger comfort.
On the tech side, the Audi A6 L e-tron is featured with a touch screen MMI interface, Bose premium sound system, ambient lighting and safety features like active lane assist and night vision.
