May 11, 2012 / No Comments

After almost two years of waiting, the Brammo Empulse and Empulse R electric sport bikes have been revealed finally. A slew of differences could be spotted between these final designs and the prototype, but similarities in the case of certain features have been maintained.

Brembo brakes, Marchesini wheels wrapped in Avon 3D Ultra Sport rubber, Marzocchi and Sachs in front and rear respectively along with  the big 10.2 kWh battery pack and breakthrough six-speed gearbox, make the news e-bikes  truly desirable ones.

The price of the vehicles, perhaps that is what every one of you wants to know, right? The Empulse R will come for $18,995, while you will have to shell out $16,995 for the Empulse. There is, in fact a big difference, in the prices of the two models as you can see.

If you wonder why, in the Empulse R, the fenders and other body panel parts are made of carbon fiber, instead of plastic and a fully adjustable suspension has been incorporated in it instead of semi-adjustable one. These justify the price difference.

The initial orders for the Empulse R would start next month and the production would start in July.

Here is the video where you can find Brammo’s director of product development Brian Wisman explaining the bikes’  features.
