We know that Audi did not promise us the production version of its all-electric A2 project. Still, the auto world expected to see the vehicle hitting the market soon.
Well folks, the latest news is that the project will be shelved by the manufacturer. As per the reports from Car Magazine, Audi is cancelling all-electric A2 project, and the reason behind this is that it would be too expensive for the company.
Audi fears high price tag due to this. The project, if it is carried on, would likely be too expensive at 40,000 euros.
That accounts for around $50,000U.S.at today’s exchange rates. The carmaker has already made it clear that it was just a “concept technology study”, when the auto was debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011.
We are also getting reports which say that Audi’s another EV project, the A1 e-tron plug-in hybrid with a Wankel motor, is also cancelled.
