It is time for some spy news. A prototype of the upcoming Audi e-tron was spotted recently, while it was being tested out.
The company is producing around 1000 pre-production units of R8 e-tron for testing. The evaluation is supposed to be completed by the end of this year.
Audi didn’t try to disguise at all and it was very easy to identify the model since it had e-tron plastered all over the body.
We assume that if the original features of the model are kept as such, then the electric powertrain will have four electric motors powered by a 53 KWh lithium-ion battery.
The output would be 230 kW (308 hp / 313 PS) producing 4,500 Nm (3,319 lb-ft) of torque. The acceleration from 0 to 100 kph (0-62mph) would be achieved in 4.8 seconds.
Tailpipes on the prototype were missing. Also we noticed that the air intake manifolds were covered from the inside.
Audi R8 e-tron is expected to ship with a price tag of €100,000.
