Honda to Start Leasing Fit EV in Select Areas in US
Honda will soon start the leasing facility for its electric model Fit. The EV has already earned 118 MPGe by the EPA, which is an achievement in itself in the EV segment. The Fit EV would be available for a three-year lease at $389 per month and it’s MSRP is $36,625, though it is not available for sale now. The facility would be available only in certain parts of the US, namelyOregonandCalifornia. The company has plans to expand the availability to six East Coast markets as well by next year.

This model features a 20-kilowatt-hour (kWh) Lithium-Ion (Li-Ion) battery coupled with AC synchronous electric motor of 92-kilowatt and 123 horsepower. These result in the production of 189 ft-lb of torque.
This 100 percent electric auto comes with an onboard charger. Thus the vehicle could be connected to household-type 120-volt or available 240-volt AC power supply.
The battery can be recharged in less than three hours from a low charge indicator illumination point. The Fit EV interactive remote control is used to start or stop the charging while connected to any outlet. This could be done through smartphone or via internet on PC.
