GE Ties Up With Paypal to Make WattStation EV Charging Payment Simpler
The WattStation charger is the latest innovation in the field of electric vehicle charging stations. Now, GE has partnered with Paypal in an attempt to make EV charging payment simpler. GE makes the WattStation chargers.

EV drivers will only need to install a Paypal mobile app on their smartphone. After charging at any random station, they must scan the QC barcode on the station, which identifies the station and the pricing structure using the app on their phone. The power is then paid to the station’s owner via Paypal. Also, the app helps in locating charging stations.
The idea sounds pretty good. But we are not sure whether it would be adopted by everyone and become a popular and standard way of transaction. Isn’t there any better way to do the same rather than using one’s smartphone?
If the charging payment system is made easier, we could see more electric vehicles on the road. Also, people can build charging stations and make some money to pay back for the installation and electricity costs.
