Vauxhall Ampera’s Entry-Level Model Earth Comes to UK

Vauxhall Ampera’s new model has been introduced in the United Kingdom. This entry-level model, called Earth, comes with a lower price tag and an array of real impressive features.

Earth comes with the same engine and battery as its ‘standard’ brother. It has a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery. The electric motor of Earth develops 150 hp (111 kW / 152 PS) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) of torque. It achieves a top speed of is 100 mph (161 km/h) and travels up to 40 miles (64 km) on electricity alone.

There is an additional ¼-liter petrol engine-generator which activates to recharge the battery, in case it is running low. Power windows/locks and an electronic climate control forms the other highlights. It is also equipped with a seven-inch touchscreen display.

Ampera Earth is now available for order. It comes with a lower price tag of £29,995 with the plug-in car grant (after government incentives). An Ampera for ;ess than £30,000.
