BMW has announced the price list for the 2013 ActiveHybrid 7 model. For the US variant of this hybrid vehicle, the starting price is $84,895.
The luxury model features 3.0-liter, six-cylinder, twin-scroll turbocharged engine. It has a 40-kW electric motor. It has the same drivetrain as the other models from the company’s ActiveHybrid lineup.
The German automaker claims that the hybrid power train produces 348 horsepower (260 kW / 354 PS) and 367 lb-ft (497 Nm) of torque. The car reaches from 0 to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds. The top speed estimated in electric is 37 miles (60 km/h). The model has the same eight-speed automatic transmission just like its smaller counterparts. Since the car is able to run on electric power up to 2.5 miles, it’s a complete hybrid vehicle. However, its EPA ratings are yet to be revealed.
The ActiveHybrid 7 is more feature-filled than the outgoing 2012MY. It is a full hybrid model and also the power unit will be turned off when the vehicle stops completely. Here the electric motor of the car will convert its kinetic energy into electrical energy in the battery.
