BWM has unveiled its future e-scooter. Called BMW C evolution, it’s now a near production prototype, which the German automaker said would be released soon. From the looks of it, the e-scooter seems just perfect for the urban life.
It features an 8 kWh battery. The top speed of the scooter is electronically limited to 75 mph. The electric motor gives 11 kW continuous output and a 35 kW peak output. Acceleration rate is 0 to 37 mph. The capacity of the vehicle is estimated to be 600 cc or more, well enough to compete with the current maxi scooters.
C evolution features a car-type charging socket. This is one of the unique features of the vehicle and as of now it is the only two-wheeler to have it. The battery takes about three hours to recharge and it has a range of 62 miles on a single charge. One can charge the battery either from a regular household outlet or a charging station. Since it has got a car type socket, it could be charged at usual charge stations in the US.
This new scooter is the result of BMW’ s aim to make an innovative vehicle with performance figures like that of a maxi scooter with a combustion engine and a long driving range.
BMW has not released the sale date or pricing details. Currently, the company is testing the scooter in a pilot phase.
