The streets in the United Kingdom would see an entry level Ampera whizzing along very soon. The new Vauxhall creation has been christened Earth, and has been put up for order.
So, if you are in the UK and are yearning to drive the Earth, you just need to place your order at £29,995 after government incentives.
For than money you will get to own the car that is equipped with power windows and locks, electronic climate control and a seven-inch touchscreen display.
The car will run on a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery, which takes up the job of driving the electric motor which develops 150 hp (111 kW / 152 PS) and 273 lb-ft (370 Nm) of torque.
The car has the capability to race to a top speed of 100 mph. The Earth can cruise on electric power alone up to 40 miles (64 km).
Once you go that far, you have the option of recharging the battery with the 1.4-liter petrol engine-generator.
So in case you haven’t decided as yet, we guess the specs and the price they come for need to be given a thought.
A nice featured green car for less money – that’s what we think.
