Zipcar, the American membership-based car sharing company, will include Honda’s Fit EVs to their car-sharing fleet in San Francisco. Honda Fit EV will be available to its customers starting this month.
Zipcar will station the new Honda Fit EVs in their locations like the Inter Continental Hotel, Parc 55 (near the Powell St. BART) and City Hall at 34 Dr. Carlton B Goodlett Place.
The cars will be leased out at a starting of $8.00 per hour. The EV can be recharged from a 240-volt station in three hours. Zipcar and Honda also will join hands to introduce added Honda Fit EV cars to Zipcar locations inLos Angeles, Portland OR, this fall.
According to Zipcar president and COO Mark Norman, these Honda Fit EVs introduced into the Zipcar fleet enable the customers to use one of the most technically-motivated vehicles along with reducing environmental impact. Honda Fit Evs fall into the category of smart and sustainable choices that Zipcar currently offers.
Zipcar plans to offer demonstrations and test drives of the Honda Fit EV at theJustinHermanPlazainSan Franciscoon September 17 and 18.
Honda rents out a limited number of their Fit EVs in the state for $389 per month. Hope people will get more used to electric cars with this venture.
