Wonder what’s on at the Hawaiian island of Lanai? Billionaire Larry Ellison, the Oracle CEO, has finally decided to give us a sneak peek on his plans for the island. Ellison had bought 98% of the 141 square-mile Hawaiian island of Lanai for $500 million.

Though there wasn’t any news on that front for quite a while, we now hear that he plans to power the Lanai Island fully on solar power.

How about that? A solar powered island! But, he states that his ultimate eco friendly goal is to run a desalination that will turn salty sea water into drinkable fresh water.

And that’s not just it.He also plans to do a little organic farming in the island.

This eco friendly paradise that he is going to create with solar power, electric cars and organic farming sure will be a pretty sight.

Ellison owns the water utility, and the electric utility. According to him, the electric utility is all going to be solar photovoltaic and solar thermal where it can convert sea water into fresh water.

So, the billionaire aims for an island that is purely green. We are also hoping to see his goals are reached as soon as possible.
