The 918 Spyder has been in the headlines as a truly desirable sports car from the Porsche stables. The details of the car which were kept under cover have now been revealed.
A leaked report suggests that, akin to the Porsche Carrera GT, the upcoming 918 Spyder will be offered only as a left hand drive model.
Porsche had initially announced its price at $845,000 for theUSmarket. But now we hear the car will actually be priced at 768,026 euro, or about $995,976 at the current exchange rates.
The Porsche 918 Spyder is assumed to come with a combustion engine that has a V8 4.6-liter with 580 hp and more than 369 lb-ft of torque. It has two electric motors in which one will power the rear wheels and the second will power the front wheels.
The two electric motors will have a combined output of 245 hp, with 116 hp at the front and 129 hp at the back.
The hybrid sports car boasts a 6.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a 3.6 kW on-board charger, along with a universal charger that will look after the external charging.
In addition, the car will also feature a 7-speed PDK gearbox, the Electric Porsche Traction Management, Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus, auto stop/start and a “Sailing” fuel-economy mode.
