Owning a land is not always possible for everyone, but it doesn’t mean that you can’t possess a house. In China, where it is very difficult to own land, the Tricycle House is a unique solution. This single affordable family home was designed in order to address the 2012 Get It Louder Exhibition.
The Tricycle House is an experiment, which has used plastic as a construction material. By using polypropylene, a form of plastic that is strong enough to fold without losing its strength, the house expands out like an accordion. You can even connect one house to another.
The translucent plastic ensures the sunlight to enter the home during the day or light from street lamps at night.
Surprisingly this little Tricycle House is equipped with facilities such as sink, stove, bathtub and a water tank. It uses transformable furniture where the sink, stove, and bathtub are collapsible.
The Tricycle House is joined with a Tricycle Garden, with grass, trees and vegetables. Several gardens can be combined together to form a large public green space.
This innovative idea of Tricycle House was presented by People’s Architecture Office (PAO) and the People’s Industrial Design Office (PIDO) in China
So, folks, what do you think about this sustainable Tricycle House?
