Everyone likes sustainability and it is great to know that many people out there want to take real action to save Planet Earth. The story of a new hotel being built in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho is really inspiring. The owners of the Marriott Spring Hill Suites are planning for a green hotel with environmental friendly requirements.

Owner Kent Clausen is now looking for a green certification for his hotel, which boasts 118 rooms. According to Clausen, they were planning to include special materials in its construction so as to ensure sustainability. These days, people appreciate sustainable works and therefore it is the right thing to do, says Clausen.

The hotel authorities have plans to include energy saving features in the building. They will be adding climate control technology and sensors would be fixed in every room to monitor whether guests are in the room or not. And if guests are not there then the temperature will drop automatically.

LEED certification is the recognized standard for measuring sustainability of a building and   achieving LEED certification is the best method to show that your building project is truly green.

The LEED certified buildings mainly feature sustainable sites, water efficiency, energy and atmosphere, materials and resources, and indoor environmental quality. The hotel is expected to open in early June this year.
