Audi A3 E-tron Plug-in Hybrid Set for Geneva Show Unveiling
Audi is all set to unveil its A3 e-tron concept car, at the Geneva Motor Show next month. Unlike their last e-tron (electric model) the new model will be a plug-in hybrid.
This plug-in hybrid will feature a 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine and 75-kilowatt electric motor. The motor is positioned between the internal combustion engine and the machine’s six-speed dual-clutch transmission and this new motor-transmission is called hybrid e-S tronic.
The system will feature a total output of 204 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The vehicle can accelerate to 62 miles per hour within 7.6 seconds and the top speed of the vehicle is 138 mph, which means the A3 E-tron is pretty fast.
It can also drive up at speed up to 80 mph on all-electric mode with an EV range of 31 miles. The Audi A3E-tron, lets its drivers to choose gasoline power, electric power, or a combination of both to the front wheels. The automaker has achieved this through a list of programmable settings.
Audi claims that the A3 e-tron is just a concept car, so the production plans are unclear at the moment. It is also possible that Audi will never produce the market version of this vehicle like its earlier all-electric e-tron.
Well, for more information for this plug-in hybrid vehicle we need to wait for the official debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
