Audi launched its A3 Sportback E-Tron at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The German automaker has come up with several stunning features in this plug-in hybrid. Not fully electric in nature, the plug–in hybrid offers a speed of 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds, with a top speed of 222 km/h. It is a five-door model with highly efficient parallel hybrid powertrains.
The powertrain consists of a 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine which can produce 150 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque coupled with an electric motor which delivers 100 horsepower and 242 lb-ft of twist.
The 8.8-kWh lithium-ion battery equipped with liquid cooling system has been housed under the rear seat floor. It can be charged in 2.5 hours with a 3.6-kW charger and has a range of 31 miles.
A pure electric model of Sportback E-Tron has a top speed of 130 km/h with a range of 50 km and is capable of producing 188 mpg of electric power with 35 g\km of CO2 emission.
The design represents a typical Audi with high performance and exceptional efficiency. The Misano Red paint finish and the E-Tron design wheels of the Audi A3 Sportback E-Tron attests to its sporty character.
On road performance and standard features like xenon plus headlights, convenient access, a panoramic tilting sunroof, driving dynamics system , and MMI radio with extending monitor all define the future of mobility.
