The idea of an electric bike is not new. But a vintage looking stylish electric bike will be a new experience for any cyclist. Cykno, a funky electric bike, will be one of the main attractions on the streets of Milan during the Design Week from April 9 to 14, 2013. The word Cykno is a Greek-Latin mix which means a transformation or metamorphosis.
Well, Cykno does the same – it transforms the boring and conventional cycle into a stylish and classy bike which is going to impress anyone on the street.
This entirely ‘Made-in-Italy’ electric bicycle combines an innovative but sophisticated design with modern technology. It includes a monocoque frame, carbon fiber-made wheels and forks and stainless steel pipes.
The bike can travel up to a distance of 60km with a single 4-hour charging. Along with the charging cable and the in-built battery, the vehicle weighs just 26kg. The bicycle can also be pedal-powered with a torque sensor. Sadly, it features a leather seat, a disappointing fact for vegan promoters.
Bruno Greppi, the mastermind behind this idea, teamed up with Italy’s best designers Luca Scopel and Gianpietro Vigorelli to make this wonderful electric bike. The team also received support from the Italian advertising expert Riccardo Lorenzini.
