How about a CNG-powered Impala from now on? Our best guess is that it could debut for the 2015 model year. Chevrolet Impala is the trump card for General Motors when it comes to fleet vehicles. It seems that GM is increasingly into developing the next-generation Impala for bulk-buying businesses.
A fleet of Impalas were recently spotted in Colorado with minor camouflage. On closer observation, it seemed a test mule for a new compressed natural gas (CNG) model. The powertrain combination may draw attraction of fleet buyers than everyday users.
CNG stickers were found affixed to the decklid. Besides, the different exhaust outlets of car, bring a premium compared to the V^-equipped Impalas. Leaked images show a different engine cover and plenty of exposed wiring as new CNG Impala continues its test. Also, an electrical connector poked out of the front fascia.
GM has said that it would offer a CNG van and a bi-fuel pickup truck. But the demand for CNG powered passenger cars is being studied for the time being.
