German automaker Mercedes-Benz has revealed its 2014 S500 Plug-In Hybrid, ahead of the vehicle’s public debut at Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
This new Plug-in vehicle from Mercedes-Benz comes with a new turbocharged V6 3.0-liter gasoline engine that delivers 328 bhp (245 kW) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque. The vehicle offers a fuel consumption of 3 liters/100 km and said to be emit only 69 g/km of CO2.
The automaker has added an electric motor in the vehicle, which offers an extra 107hp and 251lb-ft of torque. According to Mercedes-Benz, its 2014 Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-In Hybrid can achieve the speed of 100km/h in just 5.5 seconds, and will also able to achieve the top speed of 155 mph (250km/h).
By just pressing a button, you can choose any of the driving modes that include Hybrid, E-Save, E-Mode and Charge. In E-Mode, the vehicle will use only the electric power. In the E-Save Mode, the fully-charged battery is stored for later electric-only use. The automaker claims that this car will travel only on electric power for approximately 18.6 miles (30 km).
For those who want to purchase this vehicle, the 2014 Mercedes-Benz S500 Plug-In Hybrid is expected to reach the market next year.
