German car maker Volkswagen has revealed its new e-UP! electric vehicle at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The e-Up! is a good city car, and its specifications make clear this fact.
The car comes powered by an 18.7 kWh lithium ion battery. The company claims that e-Up is the most efficient electric car in the world, consuming only 11.7 kW of electricity per 62 miles.
The car can attain a speed of up to 81mph, awesome indeed for an electric vehicle. The new vehicle takes only 12.4 seconds to reach a speed of 62 miles per hour. The car has a range of up to 150km and the battery can be charged up to 80 percent in just 30minutes.
The 80bhp electric motor produces a fairly good amount of torque. The car will be having three drive modes, Normal, Eco and Eco+.
With the Eco and Eco+ modes, the driver can extend the battery life of the car, since in these modes the power consumption by the vehicle is comparatively less. The battery can be charged through a port behind the back door.
The manufacturer claims that the car has superior suspension and has been made to deliver high-level performance. The batteries have been integrated below the floor of the vehicle to save the interior space.
