Temperatures in Aberdeen will be around 11 degrees, and the only thing that can mar the game is the showers that are expected today.
This is the first time that England is playing against Scots at Mannofield Park, and they have some small things to boast of. Their key player Alastair Cook has returned, while there is also James Anderson.
Also, the coach has taken steps to mix youth with experience, so there is Harry Gurney. The fast bowler from Nottinghamshire is expected to start his career for England today, especially with Ben Stokes missing. Also missing the action is Stuart Broad.
For England, it’s Chris Jordan who takes charge and is expected to be in form. It’s a good chance for England to silence their critics who have been quite heavy with the last performances.
For Scotland, it’s Kyle Coetzer who is taking charge as the skipper and brings his immense form for the team. What Scotland will be missing today is their key batsman Richie Berrington, who is out for injury.
However, the team will have Josh Davey along with Alasdair Evans for some action. Scotland has to deal with the fact that a coach hasn’t been around, but that’s supposed to change from July as Grant Bradburn takes the position.
Coetzer remains the key player with experience and knowledge of conditions.
