China’s treatment of animals is not something to be lauded. As you know, the Asian nation has been frequently been involved with unethical treatment of animals. The latest we hear from Chinese terrain is something that would call for condemnation.

The People for Ethical Treatment of Animals have revealed that Chinese slaughterhouses have been engaged in brutal treatment and slaughtering of dogs. The severely tortured animals are then skinned, even alive, for manufacture of leather products like gloves and belts.

A video was also released by the organization that reveals the treatment of these animals in a slaughter house located at Jiangsu province. A year-long investigation was also carried out by the animal welfare group that came up with some shocking revelations.

PETA has reported that around 200 dogs are skinned on a daily basis in these slaughterhouses. Cheap manufacturing costs have been encouraging the owners to go for the slaughtering of dogs, and in the process they make low-quality forms of leather.

PETA has urged people to exercise restraint when it comes to purchase of these products, if they are to discourage the ruthless slaughtering of dogs in China.

PETA has also urged shoppers to go for products that are safe and vegan so as to bring down the harsh treatment undergone by animals for their manufacture.
